-Flagpoles are made to different specifications according to expected wind speeds in certain environments. To find the flagpole you need to evaluate your geographic location, generally coastal areas can expect higher sustained wind speeds. As opposed to further inland where wind is less frequent and lower in strength. Here is a list of wind speeds best suited to general areas:
-Atlantic Coast (Waterfront): 120-130 mph
-Atlantic Coast: 90 mph
-Pacific Coast: 80 mph
-Gulf of Mexico: 110-150 mph
-Hawaii: 140 mph
-But these are generalizations, whenever buying a flagpole you should always check the information for your area. Thank you for your question! If you have a question about flagpoles and flag etiquette email me at egadow@tuffflags.com and perhaps your question will be featured!
