-Anodized flagpoles go through a process in which the aluminum goes through chemical baths that increase the thickness of the oxide layer on the outside of the aluminum which creates a protective coating around the flagpole. The thicker oxide layer makes the aluminum tougher, more durable, and most importantly, less likely to corrode. All things considered, an anodized flagpole is extremely effective in high wind and moisture environments, such as beaches, and will outlast regular aluminum poles extensively.
