How do I display a US flag vertically? How do you hang an American flag vertically?
-The US flag may be displayed vertically or horizontally. When hanging the US flag vertically like a banner, inside or out, the union (stars) should be at the top to the observer’s left. When hung over a street or on a wall without a flag pole or staff, the US flag should be hung vertically with the union to the north or east.
