Blog #2: Proper Flag Lighting
Is it true that a US flag has to be taken down at sunset? Do I have to take my US flag down at sunset? Can I fly a US flag in the dark?
-This is a common question that not many people know the answer to. I mentioned this in the first post but here I’ll expand on it. According to US Flag code (4 U.S. Code § 8) US flag should never be flown in the dark, it must either be displayed from sunrise to sunset or be properly illuminated in hours of darkness. We offer solar lights for proper flag illumination under the Flagpoles tab at TuffFlags.com or by searching solar in our search bar in the top right of the page. If you have a question about flags and flag etiquette email me at egadow@tuffflags.com and perhaps your question will be featured!
