It was created in 1972 to represent those captive and missing in Southeast Asia and has since become a symbol of all of our military that are unaccounted for in our country's wars.
All materials, equipment, and processes used in the production of this flag are to commercial standards. The fly-end and header ends are both reinforced and the flag sewn throughout with industrial thread 33% stronger than industry standards. - Printed on Dupont Solar Max Nylon, 200 denier with Dupont UV Resistant inks.
- Finished with Brass Grommets and 28% stronger Poly-Sateen Header
- Hems use 1/4" Turn per stitch row. Our 4 stitch row fly-end results in a 1" wide hem versus the 3/4" wide hem normally found in the commercial market.
- T-60 thread used for sewing entire flag. 33% stronger than industry. (60 denotes the pounds of pressure to break thread.)
- Designed in Single Face Reverse. Reads correctly on front. 95% ink penetration to the reverse side.

When flying POW MIA flag solo, we recommend flying it on a 40' or 45' flagpole.
